Delicious Mongolian chicken for dinner ❤️ Recipe: Chicken 1.2–1.5 kg chicken breast, sliced 1½ tbsp soy sauce 1½ tbsp oil 1½ tbsp water 2 egg whites 4 tbsp cornstarch ¾ tsp black pepper ½ tsp white pepper A dash of sesame oil Sauce 100 ml soy sauce 4 tbsp oyster sauce 1½ tbsp vinegar 30 g brown sugar 1 tbsp honey ½ tsp chili flakes 1½ tsp sesame oil 350 ml water 5 garlic cloves, minced 2 tbsp fresh ginger, minced or grated 1 large white onion, sliced 3 spring onions, white and green parts separated Cornstarch slurry 1½ tbsp cornstarch 2 tbsp water Method Add the sliced chicken to a bowl. Add the soy sauce, oil, water, egg whites, cornstarch, black pepper, white pepper and a dash of sesame oil. Mix well until the chicken is evenly coated. Heat some oil in a large frying pan or wok. Fry the chicken until fully cooked, then remove it from the pan and set aside. For best results, cook the chicken in batches so the pan doesn’t get overcrowded. Add a little oil to the pan. Add the sliced white onion and fry for about 1–2 minutes. Add the garlic and ginger and stir briefly until fragrant. Add the white parts of the spring onions and stir for about 30 seconds. Add the soy sauce, then the oyster sauce, followed by the vinegar. Add the brown sugar and honey. Add the chili flakes and sesame oil. Pour in the water and bring the sauce to a gentle simmer. Mix the cornstarch with 2 tablespoons of water. Pour the slurry slowly into the sauce while stirring until the sauce thickens slightly. Add the cooked chicken back into the pan and mix until well coated. Add the green parts of the spring onions at the end, stir through, and serve hot with rice. #mongolianchicken #chickenrecipe #DinnerIdeas #homecooking #FoodLover
