The offender, of Queens Drive, Llantwit Fardre, near Pontypridd, appeared at Cardiff Crown Court in 2019 and was punished after the victim's father discovered his online behaviour. According to reports, Emery persisted in trying to control the adolescent for six months by using Facebook to start sexually improper chats. The inquiry proved that Emery's online behaviour was predatory. According to South Wales Police, Emery emailed the 14-year-old a friend request, asked for images, made explicit references to sexual acts and offered to take her shopping for knickers. According to the prosecutors, when police examined the teen's phone, they found 620 texts, including remarks from Emery stating that her pyjamas were a "turn-on" for him. Judicial Conclusions and Investigative Specifics According to the court, Emery engaged in "shameful" behaviour by connecting with what he thought were three additional minors. These accounts actually belonged to decoys from paedophile hunting gangs, according to testimony given in Cardiff Crown Court. According to the investigation, Emery set up a sexual meeting with these decoys, whom he thought were 13 and 14 years old, after asking them to email pictures of themselves wearing their school uniforms. Cardiff Recorder Judge Eleri Rees said that Emery shown a troubling tendency to minimise his own accountability and place blame on others. Emery received a 30-month prison sentence for his acts in Pontypridd and Llantwit Fardre. The judge observed that the only thing keeping the scenario from turning into a "monstrous" physical clash was the girl's father's intervention. An Advisor on "Water Research" Reveals the Emperor’s Thoughts—Including Mentions of Princess Masako [Imperial Household Archive] (Broadcast in March 2018) The Crown Prince, who will ascend to the throne as Emperor next May, has found insights into what the role of the Emperor might look like in the coming era through his research on water. At the World Water Forum, currently being held in Brazil... The Crown Prince delivered a keynote address. "I would like to touch upon the importance of sharing water." Known for his research on water-related issues—including delivering a lecture at the United Nations—the Crown Prince has long dedicated himself to this field. Why has he chosen to focus on water issues? Women and children lining up in search of even a small amount of water—this is a photograph taken by the Crown Prince during his visit to Nepal in 1987. "He wondered, 'How much time does it actually take for them to fetch water? There are so many women and children... this must be truly difficult.'" This scene served as a catalyst, deepening the Crown Prince’s interest in water-related challenges. Hideaki Oda, who has served as an advisor for his research for many years, explains the significance of this: Mr. Oda: "I believe he holds the view that unless we learn to use or engage with water in the right way, humanity will be unable to solve the problems it faces—poverty and all the other issues that exist." Mr. Oda also notes that Princess Masako holds a special place for the Crown Prince. Mr. Oda: "When he speaks abroad, he chooses to use English to engage more directly with his audience. He consults with her on the nuances—the specific expressions to use. I recall him saying, 'Masako mentioned...'" It appears that the Crown Prince turns to Princess Masako—who is highly proficient in English—for advice on how to best express himself. Mr. Oda: "He (the Crown Prince, when speaking about Princess Masako) looks incredibly happy. Perhaps the two of them are creating various things together." At the World Water Forum—his final appearance in his capacity as Crown Prince—he concluded his keynote address by saying: "I hope that future generations will look back on the 21st century as an era of prosperity, peace, and happiness brought about by water." (Broadcast in March 2018)
