no policy!? that's bad. employees could claim reasonable expectation of privacy. they could sue the company for wiretapping.

How could this be bullying or harassment or disrespectful if no one knows this is going on except from the company spyware?

I'm guilty of this and I'm sorry.
Sometimes you need to vent and your work bestie is the only person who understands. Derogatory comments are definitely in our chat history but never bullying 😔

I don't ever want to be a VP of anything because what I would want to do is send them an email with the screenshots attached that says nothing but "this you?"

If people are surprised adults act this way, they've never been an Reddit forum. I couldn't believe a content creator had people hating on her. I went in there to say stuff like aren't you guys grown adults? And they said you're obviously a fan and don't need to be in this group. I said if you look at all my comments, I'm not defending her. I'm saying you guys are grown adults and you just don't like the way she presents something and you're mad. The comment will like being in high school again and it was more embarrassing for the people making the comments than anything else.

It’s extremely strange that a company would implement an AI scan for company devices but not have that outlined in a policy somewhere…I mean previous company I worked at I had to explain to people “Yes, we have the ability to look at everything on company devices” “No, we don’t constantly do it because we need HR and Legal to request it.” I mean one instance we had someone in finance looking up anime porn on their work computer…we were all like “umm why are you not using your personal phone IN THE OFFICE to look this up?” But nope it was their company laptop 🙄 and that’s not the weirdest one.

I like how you pushed for something to be done beyond the email blast. What they are doing is not okay whether manager can see it or not and they need to know that.

I’m not saying this is OK to do on a company chat, but as a Norwegian i’m very fascinated that the company is allowed to do this. To have tracking om devices, check email and chats 😅 This would get the company a BIG fine and the worker a payout in Norway.

See this is why I can't be in HR. I would be WAY more guns ablazed about bullying someone in the work place than baby photos being leaked... I can't do it and am so in awe o those who can keep it all together along with the laws and policies!

They need to be pulled in a conference room and be reprimanded. They need to know their behavior has been seen. No consequences….. no changes.

When I worked in Boston in like 2018, someone left work and within like 2 days, 2 other people got fired. Because they were talking shit in the work Slack. Idk what they said, and no one would have known except I was one of the people that they were talking about. I was just an admin, so there must have been something else in there. But my boss decided to tell me. It really did something to my self-esteem. Thank you Bri for choosing to not involve the manager.

I can guarantee you that even if the manager hasn’t seen or heard the disrespect, she feels it and is pretending it’s not happening. All of us who have been on the receiving end of bullying know when it’s going on behind our backs.

I spent the first 15 years of my career with my company working the opposite shift of three women who were 15-20 years older than me. They created the most toxic work environment that I survived out of sheer spite and stubborn rss. I eventually moved to headquarters and they stayed behind in the warehouse and when the WORST of them finally retired this last spring, she sent me an email saying how even though we 'didn't see eye to eye' I am bright, passionate and should never let that change. 😳😳 I was floored and my brain misfired for at least an hour.

As long as they don't disrupt the work flow, and this is a running convo between just the two of them, why is HR involved? They don't have to like her.
