A controversial option here, I don't think Trunk or Treat is what is ruining Halloween. I think it's the slow rise of a new wave of purity culture and Christian extremism demonizing experiences that we are used to treating as normal and fun.

People saying trunk or treats are ruining Halloween but you have to understand that some parents work on Halloween and this is a good way for them to still participate with their kids or even make it accessible for kids who can’t walk door to door.

I HATE TRUNK OR TREAT. Last year we spent 3 hours walking/driving around and there were 10 houses. My son was so disappointed. We had to go to Walmart and buy him candy

“Trunk or Treat ruined Halloween!”🫷 I live in the city and this is literally the only way for kids to safely get candy from those of us who live here. We always dress up and do our best to give them the best Halloween experience we can given their location. All kids deserve treats on Halloween! ✨🎃

I did trunk or treating when my eldest was small, now that he’s 4 we trick or treat. It’s more fun imo, trunk or treat is kinda boring tbh.

Guys, mostly everyone still does Halloween plus trunk or treat. Almost all trunk or treats are done before Halloween in the first place. All the ones around me are before Halloween and are little festivals at school or church. Halloween has not stopped!
