A Maryland father was killed in a suspected road rage shooting while on his way to pick up his young daughter from after-school care, according to police. Authorities in Prince George’s County say 33-year-old Polo Shaw has been charged with first- and second-degree murder in the death of 39-year-old Darian Ragland. He is currently being held without bond. The shooting happened on April 10 at around 4:30 p.m. in Temple Hills, an area roughly 15 miles southeast of Washington, D.C. Investigators say both men were driving in the same area when Shaw attempted to merge into Ragland’s lane. When Ragland did not yield, the situation escalated as the two vehicles continued along Branch Avenue, at times matching each other’s speed. Police allege that when they reached the 4700 block of Branch Avenue, Shaw fired a shot through the passenger side of Ragland’s vehicle. The impact caused Ragland to lose control, cross the median, and crash into a barrier. Officers responding to reports of the shooting found Ragland injured at the scene. He was taken for medical care but later died from his injuries. Prosecutors indicated the attack appeared to come without warning. According to officials, there was no evidence that Ragland and Shaw knew each other prior to the incident. Investigators later used cellphone data and license plate reader technology to place Shaw near the scene at the time of the shooting, with his vehicle spotted a few miles away shortly afterward. Police had initially offered a reward of up to $25,000 for information leading to an arrest before Shaw was taken into custody days later. He is scheduled to appear in court again on May 18. Ragland’s family continues to grapple with the loss. His mother, overcome with grief, said she is struggling to understand the tragedy, noting that he was her last surviving child.#fyp #viral

A Florida pastor has been arrested after investigators accused her of subjecting five children in her care to severe neglect while allegedly giving preferential treatment to her biological daughter. Gwendolyn Rolle, 59, of Fort Pierce, faces five felony child neglect charges following an investigation launched by local authorities after an anonymous tip raised concerns about the children’s living conditions. According to police, the five siblings, ages 4 to 9, were allegedly forced to use a bucket as a bathroom because they were often denied access to the home’s only functioning restroom. Investigators say the children reported being required to bathe outdoors using a garden hose while taking turns holding a sheet for privacy. Authorities allege the children frequently went hungry, surviving on ramen noodles, leftovers from school meals, or sometimes no dinner at all. Meanwhile, Rolle’s biological daughter allegedly received better meals, including fast food from restaurants such as KFC and Popeyes, and was allowed regular access to the home’s bathroom facilities. The investigation also revealed reports that the children were mocked at school because of body odor and unwashed clothing. School staff and community members reportedly noticed signs of neglect, with one witness claiming the children often lacked basic hygiene and necessities. Rolle, who serves as a pastor at a local church, told investigators she took the children in after they were abandoned by their father and denied mistreating them. However, police say multiple witness statements and interviews with the children painted a different picture. In addition to the neglect allegations, the children accused Rolle of using physical punishment and verbally degrading them. The case remains under investigation.#fyp #viral
