IATSE here and lost my insurance 2023. When I’m 62 I will get free insurance unless they change the rules, which they might. I had to take a full time job and now pay $600 a month for me and my son.

If you’re close to retirement aid, and you do have Medical in your union, maybe it’s time for you to retire

That’s why our unions need to endorse a candidate that runs on free healthcare for all imagine how much stronger our unions would be if we didn’t have to spend 90% of the time on healthcare

It’s also affecting those over 65, my husband has paid into it for over 30 years and 50 films and they’re starting to deny or pay more for medications

I’ve been working as a CGIVFX artist for the last 30 years and not once have I been covered by insurance or protected by a union. Welcome to my world.

Yes, Universal healthcare - but also keep in mind unions are killing us in the film industry in the United States - we need unions for sure, but they’re predatory practices to satisfy benefits like these is causing a breaking pain

It’s getting to a point that being in the union is almost not worth it. There’s no work you don’t get Healthcare and if you do get Healthcare, you can’t afford it. It’s ridiculous.

It seems like this is what happens when you let people who’s main career is/was being part of the industry run the same unions instead of people who are actual experts on Union negotiations
