Ok so I was just able to pull up my skull candy headphones (now my daughters) in the app and it shows the serial number. I wonder why you don’t see it in yours.

If he connected them to his Bluetooth the cereal number should be in the settings on his phone still. The serial number should be somewhere on his headphones so then you can compare them, might be worth checking out still. Supposedly even if they were factory reset the headphones should still be in his Bluetooth settings with the information just not able to actually connect

Is the serial number on the receipt? Walmart usually has it on the receipt. If you threw it away they may be able to print a new one if you know the day/time you bought them.

Call the school have them pull that kid and have your son turn on his phone and have that kid turn on the headphones and if his phone automatically connects that should tell them.

Honestly, I used to buy the expensive AirPods and after losing them or having them stolen three times I buy the cheap ones for $20 and they literally work the same. There is no difference between the expensive AirPods and the cheap AirPods! sorry that happened to your son!
