✨ If your mochi doesn't STRETCH like this... don't scroll. 😮💨🇵🇭 This is Filipino Palitaw! It’s soft, chewy, covered in coconut, toasted sesame seeds, and just the right amount of sugar. It only takes a few simple ingredients, but the texture is EVERYTHING. 🤤 Save this recipe for your next sweet craving and tell me… have you ever tried Palitaw? INGREDIENTS (makes ~12) 🍡rice cake mixture: -2 cups of glutinous rice flour -1 cup of water 🥥toppings: -sesame seeds (add however much to your liking) -white sugar (add however much to your liking) -shredded coconut (i used unsweetened coconut) Directons: 1. Toast your sesame seeds in a pan on LOW heat. Make sure to move the seeds around to prevent burning(~30 sec to 1 min) 2. Mix your sugar and toasted sesame seeds on a plate, as well as coconut shreds on a separate place. Set these aside for later. 3. Add glutinous rice flour and water into a bowl. 4. Mix the flour and water until you get a play dough like texture. (You may add small amounts of water if the consistency is too dry. You also do not want this texture wet or sticky.) 5. Once you achieve the play dough texture, separate the dough into medium size balls and place on a plate while your water comes to a boil. 6. Once your water is boiling, flatten your dough into an oval shape with your palm (do not make them super thin) 7. Place your dough into the boiling water (do not overcrowd & make sure there’s space between the dough) 8. Once you see the rice cake start to float (~3-4 min), flip them over and let them cook for ~3 more minutes) 9. Place them on a plate to cool down (2-3 minutes or until it’s not to hot to touch) 10. Grab a rice cake & dip it into the coconut shreds on both sides, then into your sesame seeds & sugar mixture. (press down into the mixture to make them stick better to the mochi) 11. Let the palitaw sit for 5 minutes and they’re ready to enjoy! (To properly store, I placed them into a glass airtight container at room temperature. They maintained their consistency for 2 days) . . . . #creatorsearchinsights #filipinodessert #foodietiktok #DessertRecipes #simplerecipe
