Tbh I took out a voluntary separation it was $35k and I paid off all debt/student loans and was debt free and not even two months later got a job that offered more money, better benefits and work/life balance. TAKE. IT.

As a previous Recruiter at Spirit Airlines, their buyout package was a better offer than the layoff that came for folks that didn’t want to take the buy out 😬

People don’t realize that they are offering the buyout to entire orgs - including all of Windows and AI and anyone is eligible . It’s not performance based.

When DOGE did this to us in the Fed, I can tell you SO many people regretted taking the “buyout”. For us there was no real buyout, it was basically just agreeing to leave by September. But still.

Y’all are saying she should take it but that is the worst thing she can do. If she takes it she won’t be able to get unemployment. She should stay and add as much as she can to her 401k and let them lay her off. She will get a severance, her 401k, and unemployment
