we used to live next to a lady that would throw cups of hot water from her coffee pot at my kids for playing on the street because her dogs would bark at them. I spent a night in jail but she never threw anything out that window again!

See this is why the neighborhood kids know my yard is the safe place. They can play, come in get snacks, drinks, use the restroom….. they want to come in and color they can, just sit and watch some cartoons. I can’t imagine doing this to kids.

A lady did this to kids walking by her house (she lived next to a school) and one of the kids ran into the street to avoid getting wet and got hit by a car. I never saw that old lady again.

we have a neighbor on our street who sits outside to say good morning to the kids at the bus stop. he hands out gift cards to icecream places and popsicles on hot days, he even told the kids if it’s raining they can wait on his porch for the bus. it’s so easy to build community and be kind.
