The Muslims had been forced to leave their homes and move to Medina because of persecution. In 628 AD, Prophet Muhammad and the Quraysh tribe signed the Treaty of Hudaybiyyah, which was intended to maintain peace between the two sides. However, the peace agreement was broken when allies of the Quraysh attacked a tribe that was allied with the Muslims. This event gave the Muslims a reason to respond. Prophet Muhammad decided to march toward Mecca with a large army of approximately 10,000 Muslims. He wanted to take control of the city and restore peace. He also hoped to protect the Kaaba, which was a sacred place built for the worship of one God. The Muslims prepared carefully for the journey, and Prophet Muhammad tried to keep the plan secret so that the people of Mecca would not prepare for a major battle. ### 2\. The Entry of the Muslims into Mecca When Prophet Muhammad and the Muslim army approached Mecca, the people of the city realized that they could not easily resist such a large force. Prophet Muhammad wanted to avoid unnecessary bloodshed, so he instructed his army not to fight unless they were attacked. The Muslim army entered Mecca from different directions, and most of the city surrendered with very little fighting. This made the conquest different from many other military victories of that time. After entering the city, Prophet Muhammad went to the Kaaba, the most sacred place in Islam. At that time, many idols were kept inside and around the Kaaba, and people worshipped them. Prophet Muhammad ordered the idols to be removed, restoring the Kaaba to its role as a place dedicated to the worship of Allah alone. He also reminded the people that truth had come and falsehood had disappeared. The conquest was not only a political and military victory but also a religious turning point. Mecca, which had once been a center of opposition to Islam, became the spiritual center of the Muslim community. Many people witnessed the peaceful entry of the Muslims and began to understand the importance of Prophet Muhammad's message. ### 3\.
