@fox9mn: The family of an Apple Valley woman says the heirloom jewelry she wore every day disappeared after her death at a Burnsville hospital. Family members say Bon Soukchareun came to the United States from Laos in the late 1980s in search of a better life. They say the jewelry was a symbol of who she was and something she wanted passed down through her family. #missing #mnnews #mn #jewelrytheftmystery
When you go in the ER they take all your jewelry off and usually put it with your clothes so my guess is a nurse stole them

My mom died at that hospital in December of last year. She wanted to keep wearing her rings but the moment she was no longer really with it, there was 1 nurse that was strangely insistent that I take the rings immediately. She just wouldn't allow them to stay with her. I'm so thankful to that nurse!

Cameras!!!!!! There are cameras everywhere in the Ed! They should review & see if she had it on when she arrived. This is not an uncommon complaint from families it patients and security always checks cameras

maybe a family member took her belongings, cause patients are not supposed to have jewelry on them.

That is the strangest thing I've ever heard where I live they will not let you wear any jewelry in the hospital someone in your family has to take it home with them.

This happened with my grandma, after she passed, the nurse came into the room and whispered let's start taking off her jewelry my aunt wanted her to leave it on. The nurse again said let's just take her jewelry off and put them into a big and gave it to me. Clearly it's an issue.

I’m surprised they were allowed to keep valuables. I volunteered and worked at a hospital for many years. Jewelry & wallets were bagged by security & vaulted if you were admitted. You got them when you were discharged.

The staff probably told her to take it off and she probably just put in a denture cup, and it could’ve been accidentally thrown away after was hidden in her blankets, etc.
