At work they say If it’s falling…. Let it fall. You’ll hurt yourself trying to stop it. Just get out of the way.

As I get older and my ability to run gets lower, I find fewer things worth running after

Great analogy for explaining the parent and adult child relationship, too! We can listen and counsel till we’re blue in the face but in the end, all that we can do is watch them barrel down the hill and hope that the damage isn’t catastrophic.

Semi truck slid away once, I ran after and managed to steer it away from hitting a bin. Took a breath and realized how lucky I was that it didn't end worse. This was after someone I worked with was not so lucky chasing a runaway landscape job trailer.

I worked and am working for Amazon again, lots of good and bad can be said about the company. That said, there policy is, if something is falling, let it fall, don’t try to stop it, catch it or anything like that, get out of the way if you need to, and let it fall. I say good, because that was my plan anyway. I watched someone once go to try to catch a box that was falling, I yelled, let it fall. I get it though, because the instinct/ knee jerk reaction is to try and stop it, catch it or whatever. That’s why Amazon really drills that one home, we hear often “ Let it fall!”

Great motto: sometimes you just have to watch the trailer go down the hill.😂

The call to the boss to explain what happened if it would damage anything will be the best part especially if he has a sense of humor.

I've seen many a video where someone will forget to park/brake in their driveway. The car is effectively in a free fall down the hill and a poor fool sprinting to try and get to the brake, or worse try to physically stop it
