Warning: this one is not for the faint of heart. 😳 What you're watching is an ankle dislocation being manually reduced — meaning the bones of the ankle joint are being physically manipulated back into their correct position. And yes, it is exactly as painful as it looks. An ankle dislocation happens when the bones that form the ankle are forced completely out of alignment — usually from a high impact fall, a sports collision, or a car accident. When it happens, the ligaments tear, the soft tissue is destroyed, and what was a stable joint seconds ago becomes a medical emergency. The reduction has to happen fast. The longer a dislocated joint stays out of place, the more damage is done to the surrounding nerves, blood vessels, and tissue. So as brutal as this looks — getting it back in is the most important thing that can happen in that moment. And this is just step one. After reduction comes imaging, surgical repair in many cases, casting, and months of rehabilitation just to get back to walking normally. The human body can be broken down in a split second. The recovery is measured in months. That contrast never stops being humbling. 🙏 Credit: Unknown ✅Follow @drdavidabbasi for More Daily Medical Content & Health Tips!🌴😷Schedule a consultation in Delray Beach!
