Halloween was definitely different this year, and honestly, it made me sad. We took my two-year-old trick-or-treating between 6 and 8, and so many houses had their lights on and decorations up but wouldn’t answer the door. Then we’d come across houses telling us we were their first trick-or-treaters all night! I really feel like all these trunk-or-treat events have taken away from traditional Halloween. And it’s not even about the cost of admission, it’s the principle of having to pay for something that used to be such a simple neighborhood tradition. I just want my little girl to experience the Halloween we grew up with. Walking door to door, seeing all the decorations, and feeling that excitement. It’s not about the candy, it’s about the memories and the nostalgia. I really miss that old-school Halloween. 🎃🖤

Besides this Saturday's Halloween celebration, let's come together starting in 2027 to celebrate Halloween on the last Saturday of every October and keep the tradition alive every year! Many people say Halloween isn't celebrated like it used to be. Moving it to a Saturday would allow families to enjoy Halloween without the stress of rushing home from work. Parents, children, friends, and families could celebrate together and truly enjoy the occasion. Since Halloween isn't a federal holiday, we can make this happen together! Let's spread the word through social media, tell everyone we know, and make this a nationwide trend.
