@theunkowndeity: Black women married to white men had a 44% lower likelihood of divorce within their first decade of marriage than couples with two white spouses, according to research published in Family Relations. Researchers analyzed first marriages reported by 5,676 adults. The difference remained after accounting for factors including age at marriage, education, premarital cohabitation and family background. Divorce patterns also varied substantially between different interracial pairings, showing why treating all interracial marriages as one category can overlook meaningful differences.
