As a survivor of childhood sa, that boy absolutely remembers what happened to him. And he most certainly has so much shame and unresolved self hatred and confusion about it and will likely never be able to have a normal healthy romantic relationship even if he breaks free of his mom or goes no contact. She has ruined his entire life. I feel so bad for him.

I had one who was a twin. He and his brother were both locked up for CSAM. One day I came in for 3-11 shift, and dude was in the box. He was, for all appearances, really chill, polite, went to church (of course)…but he got picked for a random cell search. They found notebooks with cut out pics of kids from magazines, ads, some were actual pictures hed somehow gotten from other inmates. There were…pages stuck together. He made his own p mags. Then the brass realized hed been getting Parents and Parenting mags in his mail too. It was…disgusting doesnt cover it. Somehow, he served his 30 in the box, and came back to the block, and nothing happened. Stunning since he had stolen personal pics of other guys’ kiddos.

I feel like the system failed the son. He shouldn't have been in custody with her mother. He may have a lifetime of healing and therapy. It's so sad that children of abuse are treated this way.

The one story I heard while I was in prison was that the mom was keeping her children in dog kennels and feeding them animal food and she was in the fishbowl with us and everybody gave her shit you don’t hurt children
