A 1-year-old boy was killed after a Mississippi police officer opened fire on a vehicle outside a Walmart during a response to an alleged shoplifting incident, authorities said. According to investigators, officers in Senatobia encountered two adults and a child who were reportedly leaving the store and getting into a vehicle. Police said the driver attempted to flee and drove toward officers, nearly striking one of them. An officer then discharged a weapon as the vehicle left the parking lot.
