🇬🇧 When do you give yourself permission to rest? We live in a world where constantly pushing through is often seen as strength. Where a full schedule can feel like something to be proud of. And where rest sometimes feels like something we’re only allowed to have once everything is done. But what if your body doesn’t wait until you’re finished? Rest isn’t a reward for everything you’ve accomplished. It isn’t laziness. It isn’t weakness. And you don’t have to be completely exhausted before you’re allowed to take a break. Your body needs rest to recover, regulate and recharge. For those living with chronic illness, this can be even more complicated. You learn to listen to signals that other people may never see. And because you can look perfectly fine on the outside, taking a step back can sometimes feel like something you have to explain. But rest is simply part of taking care of yourself. So maybe you don’t have to wait until your body is screaming for a break. Maybe you can listen while it’s still only whispering. Rest before you have to recover from not resting. #mecfsawareness #chronicillnessawareness #fibromyalgia #bekindtoyourself #bekindtoyourself
