@quackersandfernie: Angel doesn't do this with just anyone! I've noticed that she regularly preens and nuzzles these particular birds (Spike and Buffy). It's one of those little behaviors that makes observing chickens so interesting. Chickens have close companions just like we do 💕 A flock is really a family. These guys get attached and really upset if they are separated or someone passes away. Each bird is an individual with their own unique personality. Oh my god yesss. We have a pair of best friends and the one stands there and lets the other preen her front feathers. In a complete stupor. Every year the one getting preened is basically bald in the front and just keeps going back for more. [Tears of joy] Going on 8 years for those two. Every single year.
