Last night, Ongphou was left outside in the pouring rain, tied down by chains with no shelter to protect him. While the rain fell, he had nowhere to go, nowhere to hide and nobody to comfort him. It was heartbreaking to see him forgotten like this. 💔 We wanted so desperately to remove those chains and give him even a little freedom, but his owner had the keys. We couldn't unlock them. We had to leave knowing that Ongphou was still chained, still exposed to the rain and still waiting for the day someone would finally come to change his life. How much longer must he endure this? How many more nights must he spend chained, exposed to the elements, without the freedom every elephant deserves? We don't want to keep visiting Ongphou and finding him suffering. We want to bring him HOME. We want to break those chains, give him shelter, proper care, nutritious food and the peaceful life he has been denied for so long. But we cannot do this alone.
