The aesthetic of many towns in England is severely depressing to me. The often overcast skies, the old brick buildings filled with low rent shops, the narrow roads and alleys, the general gloomy mood of residents, the early sunsets in winter. It’s all very depressing. London is nice - very lively, lots to see and do, vibrant. But outside of it, it’s just very gloomy.

Context for the hat quote, Luton was the global centre of hat making in the early 1900s, hence why the football club is the hatters, there’s an arts centre called the hat factory, so on… I left Luton a long time ago! It used to be better, it’s just underfunded
