@the17thletter887: Norway Withdraws $661 Million From Five Israeli Banks In Major Ethical Move Norway’s massive sovereign wealth fund, the world’s largest, has taken a bold step by pulling out $661 million in investments from five major Israeli banks. The decision follows a thorough ethical review and targets Bank Hapoalim, Bank Leumi, Mizrahi Tefahot Bank, First International Bank of Israel, and FIBI Holdings. Officials cited an unacceptable risk that these banks contribute to serious violations of individuals’ rights in situations of war and conflict, particularly through financial services linked to settlement activity in the West Bank and broader concerns over Gaza. This move continues the fund’s pattern of aligning its portfolio with strict human rights standards, after previously exiting Caterpillar and other Israeli firms for similar reasons.
