I’m so tired of the messaging women receive about their bodies needing to look a certain way in order to be worthy of taking up space, wearing a bikini, or enjoying their lives. I can’t even tell you how many beach days, pool days, and vacations I spent worrying about how my body looked instead of being fully present for the experience. That was energy I can never get back. And the craziest part? The idea of a “bikini body” is completely made up. It’s taken a lot of work, but I’ve gotten to a point where I can wear a bikini, relax my body, and be present for the moments that I will never get to experience again. The thoughts about my body still cross my mind sometimes, but I don’t give them nearly as much attention or importance as I used to. Your body is not the most important thing about you. And you do not need to look like the women you see online to be worthy of enjoying your summer. Follow me if this is the type of content you need to see with summer around the corner ☀️
