The “fallen angel” is a metaphor for what happens when we separate ourselves from love. Every choice we make is an opportunity to choose love. When we choose love, we bring a little bit of heaven to Earth. When we choose fear, anger, hate, or anything that pulls us away from love, we “fall” away from it. But we are never too far gone. No matter how far you’ve wandered from love, you can always choose it again. Love never leaves you. It is always there, waiting for you with open arms.

It look over three years of my life, god knows how many interviews, about three months abroad and nine international trips to write How To Kill A Language. There is both hope and sadness in this book, but most importantly, it’s got the voices of people who are living through this, and the peer-reviewed research that has been done to begin quantifying and qualifying the damage of linguistic erasure. I am grateful to everyone who’s giving this book even a second of their time.
