@pa_nicola: TMJ pain and masseter hypertrophy are not the same diagnosis, and they shouldn't be treated the same way. While neurotoxin can be an effective treatment for both, your treatment plan should look very different depending on why the patient is sitting in your chair. If your patient is experiencing TMJ pain from clenching and bruxism, you're treating a functional condition. That means understanding the relationship between the temporalis and the masseter and treating them in conjunction with one another. If your patient simply wants to reduce the appearance of a prominent jawline, you're treating an aesthetic concern with a completely different goal and different anatomical considerations. The muscles may be the same. The diagnosis/treatment is not.
