A video recorded on a home security camera in Comox is getting a lot of attention after a bear was spotted hobbling down a sidewalk in front of the home. The bear appears to limp and its hind legs and backside are pulled up close to its front for some reason. “My first reaction to that video was that poor thing is injured somehow. I figured it might have been hit or even born that way but its definitely deformed somehow,” said Maureen McNulty who lives near where the video was taken. Some neighbours think the animal is doing OK on its own, like a woman CHEK News spoke to who said it reminds her of Jimothy the racoon. The BC Conservation Officer Service says a biologist or veterinarian will assess the video of the bear, adding that, in the meantime, the bear isn’t causing any problems. “That bear is still mobile and still feeding. We would ask neighbours, the neighbourhood to just monitor the bear. 𝗗𝗨𝗔 𝗟𝗘𝗟𝗔𝗞𝗜 𝗖𝗨𝗕𝗔 𝗟𝗢𝗟𝗢𝗦 𝗣𝗘𝗠𝗘𝗥𝗜𝗞𝗦𝗔𝗔𝗡 𝗣𝗢𝗟𝗜𝗦 𝗗𝗜𝗗𝗔𝗞𝗪𝗔 KOTA BHARU, 2 September 2026: Dua lelaki tempatan berusia 24 dan 25 tahun, dihadapkan ke Mahkamah Majistret Kota Bharu hari ini atas kesalahan menghalang tugas penjawat awam serta menggunakan kekerasan ke atas seorang anggota polis. Tertuduh pertama, seorang pemandu lori didakwa di bawah Seksyen 186 Kanun Keseksaan, yang memperuntukkan hukuman penjara sehingga 2 tahun atau denda sehingga RM10,000 atau kedua-duanya sekali jika disabitkan kesalahan. Manakala seorang lagi tertuduh, didakwa di bawah Seksyen 353 Kanun yang sama, berdepan hukuman penjara sehingga 2 tahun, atau denda atau kedua-duanya sekali jika disabitkan kesalahan. Terdahulu pada awal pagi 26 Ogos yang lalu, sepasukan anggota telah menahan sebuah lori dan sebuah kereta yang dinaiki tertuduh-tertuduh di Wakaf Che Yeh, Kota Bharu. Pemandu lori, iaitu tertuduh pertama, telah meloloskan diri dengan memecut laju, sewaktu pemeriksaan dijalankan. Kenderaan terbabit dipercayai sedang membawa muatan seludup. Tertuduh kedua, iaitu pemandu kereta, telah dimasukkan ke dalam kenderaan yang dinaiki anggota polis sebelum bertindak berani, menendang dan memukul anggota terbabit sehingga tercampak keluar dari kenderaan. Pihak polis telah melepaskan tembakan amaran ke arah lori berkenaan, namun lori tersebut berjaya meloloskan diri dengan bantuan tonto, sewaktu memasuki jalan kampung. Bertindak atas laporan diterima, pada petang 27 Ogos yang lalu, sepasukan pegawai dan anggota dari Bahagian Siasatan Jenayah IPD Kota Bharu telah menahan kedua-dua tertuduh bersama kenderaan-kenderaan terlibat untuk siasatan dan tindakan lanjut Dalam kamar pertuduhan hari ini, kedua-dua tertuduh mengaku bersalah atas pertuduhan yang dibacakan ke atas mereka.
